Q: What is the best way to edit my photos?

✨ Start with Exposure & Contrast
Make sure the photo isn’t too dark or too bright. Add a touch of contrast to give it punch, but don’t lose details in the shadows or highlights.

🎨 Fix the Colors
Adjust the white balance—if your photo looks too blue or too yellow, slide it until the colors feel natural. Then, give it a tiny boost in vibrance for that “pop.”

🖼 Crop & Straighten
Sometimes the best edit is just cleaning up the frame. Crop out distractions and straighten horizons (especially important in landscapes and beach/lake shots).

🔍 Add Sharpness (lightly!)
A little sharpening helps details stand out, but too much makes photos look crunchy. Think “crisp,” not “crispy.”

🌅 Use Presets or Filters Wisely
Presets can speed things up, but always tweak them to fit your photo. You want your style to shine through, not look like everyone else’s Instagram feed.

👉 The best way to get good at editing is to practice on your own photos—play with sliders and compare before/after. Over time, you’ll develop your own signature look.

1. Naples Causeway – Grab a coffee, take a morning walk along the boardwalk, and snap photos of Brandy Pond with boats framed by fall colors.

2. Bridgton (Highland Lake & Main St.) – Check out Bridgton Books, the old movie theater, and Highland Lake’s public beach for a mountain backdrop.

3. Moose Pond & Pleasant Mountain – Park near Pleasant Mountain ski area for an easy stroll with foliage mirrored in the water.

4. Fryeburg (Saco River Valley) – Visit the Fryeburg Academy campus (classic New England setting), walk along the Saco River, or time your trip for Fryeburg Fair week.

5. North Conway, NH –

   • Ride the Conway Scenic Railroad through the mountains.

   • Walk Main Street for shops, cafés, and Mt. Washington views.
